Rme - Module SFP MADI Multimode

The RME Multimode MADI SFP Module is designed for set-ups requiring a multimode optical MADI connection on a compatible RME device. This SFP module adds an optical transceiver to the equipment and enables the transmission and reception of up to 64 audio channels with other MADI devices. It therefore serves as an optical MADI module for RME devices, designed for digital audio set-ups utilising multimode fibre transmission.

The optical section operates with OM-1 fibre and features an LC Duplex connector. RME specifies a maximum cable length of 2 km with this configuration. For a MADI link over OM-1 fibre, choosing a multimode module is essential: the transceiver must be used with a system that also utilises multimode technology. This distinction is important in comparison to the Single Mode model in the range, which is designed for a different type of fibre and transmission.

The module is compatible with fibre-optic cables fitted with LC connectors. As many MADI devices and cables use SC connections, RME supplies several accessories to facilitate this integration. The pack includes a 2-metre fibre-optic cable and an SC female to SC female coupler. This combination makes it possible, in particular, to connect the module to an existing SC optical MADI cable. For a MADI installation with SC connectors, this adapter is therefore a particularly useful component when integrating the module.

The RME Multimode MADI SFP Module can be installed in the RME 12Mic, AVB Tool, M-1610 Pro, M-32 Pro II, M-32 Pro II-D, M-1620 Pro, M-1620 Pro D and HDSPe AoX. It is therefore suitable as a multimode MADI SFP transceiver, an SFP module for MADI connections or a MADI fibre-optic module for RME equipment, depending on the required configuration.
