The BK-3 offers a multitude of sounds and rhythms covering a wide range of musical genres from all over the world, including Eastern Europe, Latin America and Asia. With over 850 sounds and 50 internal drum kits, you're spoilt for choice when it comes to melody and accompaniment. Compatibility with GM2, GS and XG Lite formats guarantees optimum reproduction of standard MIDI (SMF) files.
The BK-3 can play audio files in various formats (WAV, MP3), SMF files and Roland 'Rhythm' files (BK, E, G and VA series) from an optional USB memory. Tempo or tone not to your liking? No problem: you can change them to suit your needs or tessitura. What's more, the "Center Cancel" function attenuates the vocal part of WAV/MP3 audio files, allowing you to take the place of the artist.
A dedicated button on the front panel lets you record your playing and the BK-3 accompaniment directly to USB memory in the form of audio files for sharing with family and friends. Your recordings are saved as WAV files (CD quality) and can therefore be easily transferred to a computer for burning to CD.
Support for Roland Wireless Connect allows the BK-3 to communicate wirelessly with an Apple iPhone or iPad. To set up this communication, get the optional WNA1100-RL wireless USB adapter. There are a number of fun, free iOS apps, such as "Air Recorder", which lets you record audio from the BK-3 to your iPhone, and "Lyrics Viewer", which displays lyrics from SMF files on your iPad. "Show Your Music" lets you create video clips of your performances and share them on your favourite social networks!
