Presentation
The Yamaha Genos 2 is a digital workstation offering a hybrid sound architecture, combining AWM technology and FM synthesis. This dual approach covers a wide spectrum of sounds, from finely sampled acoustic instruments to modulable electronic textures, with a total polyphony of 384 voices spread across the internal engines.
The 76-key FSX keyboard is sensitive to velocity and aftertouch, and offers a range of response curves to suit different playing styles. Genos 2 features a large, bright, anti-glare 9-inch colour touchscreen, plus a secondary screen dedicated to Live Control, for smooth navigation during performances. With its 9 assignable faders, dedicated articulation buttons and multiple controllers, this station lends itself to precise and immediate control of all parameters.
The sound section features almost 2,000 preset voices, including the famous S.Articulation, MegaVoices, Revo! Drums, and now FM sounds, for more textured creations. A new ambient drums function lets you alternate between dry percussive kits and realistic room ambiences. The addition of Steinberg's REVelation reverb provides transparent spatialization, ideal for recording or live performance.
When it comes to connectivity, the Genos 2 has all the options you'd expect: multiple line outputs, microphone input with phantom power, USB, 5-pin MIDI, HDMI, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and three assignable pedals. The Chord Looper function lets you record and recall harmonic sequences in a loop, making it easy to set up complex arrangements without leaving your keyboard.
Designed for stages, studios and home studios, Genos 2 combines processing power, rich playability and intuitive control. It builds on the strengths of the original Genos while opening up new horizons with its extended sound engine, new interface and latest-generation effects. A complete solution for composers, arrangers, pianists and performers.

# What are the differences between Genos and Genos 2?
- A new dual-engine sound generation engine featuring not only AWM technology but also FM synthesis. This allows Genos 2 to produce a wider range of sounds, including richer, more detailed sounds.
- Ambient drum sounds that let you choose between a punchy, dry and direct drum sound, or a more distant and reflective ambient room sound. This allows users to create a variety of different drum sounds for their tracks.
- Steinberg's REVelation reverb, which offers a transparent and natural sound, making it the ideal partner for an arrangement workstation where reverb needs to work across a wide range of sounds, styles and even vocals.
- A large, brighter, anti-glare 9-inch touchscreen. This makes the screen easier to see, even in difficult lighting conditions.
- An updated user interface that makes it easier to navigate and control. The user interface has been redesigned to be more intuitive and easier to use.
