Jojo Mayer, a Swiss drummer born in 1963, made a name for himself on the jazz scene at a very early age before exploring drum and bass. A master of reverse engineering, he reproduces electronic rhythms on acoustic drums using advanced techniques such as the Moeller stroke, the heel-toe and the push-pull, enabling him to reach impressive speeds. In 1997, he founded Nerve, a group fusing improvisation and electronic music. His innovative playing and pedagogy have influenced many musicians.
