Sabian's 217XFC AAX 17" Freq Crash is a cymbal designed to produce an incisive attack and precise response, while maintaining balanced musicality. Part of the AAX series, it benefits from Sabian's latest advances in hammering and surface treatment, with a design focused on frequency peaks - hence the name, Freq Crash.
It features a unique visual and sonic contrast: an unturned centre that retains a richness of low frequencies, combined with a turned and polished edge that enhances clarity and projection. This bi-finish design optimises response by accentuating the midrange and treble frequencies, for a sound that easily cuts through a dense mix.
The 17" diameter offers an excellent balance between fast attack and moderate sustain, ideal for dynamic, articulate playing. The fine, even hammering ensures a homogenous sound across the entire surface of the cymbal, with rapid opening and natural decay.
