Presentation
The MK2 Sg omnidirectional high-frequency capsule from Schoeps, specialists in high-end microphones with small diaphragms, is part of the "Colette" series of capsules for modular microphones.
The Schoeps MK 2Sg is compatible with the CMC 6, CMC 6XT, CMR and CMC 5 Vintage microphone amplifiers.
With a slight accentuation of high frequencies for frontal sound incidence and a slight attenuation of high frequencies off-axis and in the reverberant sound field, the MK 2S capsule is placed between the MK 2 and the MK 2XS. It is particularly useful in two- and three-microphone stereo arrays, where its placement close to the reverberation radius of the sound field provides the balanced pick-up favoured by many recording engineers.
