This two-channel reference allows you to easily modulate a wide range of sounds. It thus provides great acoustic flexibility. The Mop Top Liverpool is an analogue distortion pedal that combines Vox’s renowned style with the power of the Rangemaster Booster.
Featuring two separate channels, CHAR A and CHAR B, it offers impressive audio flexibility.
With CHAR A, settings below 12 o’clock produce clear tones with moderate saturation. Moving towards 12 o’clock, the British mids come into play. Beyond that, the tone becomes clearer and crunchier. You’ll also notice a crackle in the treble that is typical of Alnico speakers when driven hard.
CHAR B offers a different sound spectrum. Its settings below 12 o’clock provide full clarity with deep bass. Around 12 o’clock, you get the British mids. Beyond that, the tone evokes the “Woman Tone” with a distinct vocal quality. At full throttle, the low-mid boost provides a more modern, less Top Boost AC30 sound.
The Liverpool Mop Top also stands out with its independent boost section.
The Boost knob allows a flat boost at 12 o'clock. Turning to the right offers up to 12dB of treble boost for a vintage tone. Turning to the left, up to 12dB of midrange boost tightens distortion and rhythmic tones. You will notice a modern tone.
This model is fully analog and includes a three-band EQ, an additional distortion stage, gain and tone controls, a footswitch for channel selection and additional drive and an XLR output for direct connection to a PA.
It comes with a power supply for convenient and immediate use.
