Union Audio - orbit.4 LE fx

The orbit.4 LE fx takes the analogue approach so dear to Union Audio while extending the creative possibilities with its integrated digital effects module. The chassis houses four independent channels, each with high-quality phono and line inputs.

This means you can switch effortlessly from a vinyl source to a digital player, while retaining the musicality and precision that characterise the brand's mixers. Variable Q high-pass filters and Alps rotary faders ensure smooth, natural control, suitable for both progressive transitions and more pronounced manipulations.

The heart of the fx model is the integrated DSP unit. It offers eight effects selected for their usefulness in DJing: reverbs, delays, phaser, flanger, bit-crusher and resonant filters. The latching and momentary activation modes provide additional freedom of expression, allowing the effect to be inserted on the fly or held as required.

The Delay 2 even features automatic BPM detection, with the option of taking control via a Tap Tempo button. For more advanced setups, an external effects path lets you add or combine processing outside the mixer.

The Master section remains true to Union Audio's ergonomic approach: switchable 3 or 4 band isolator, full cut and boost up to +6 dB per band, with crossovers distributed between 110 Hz and 3 kHz. Listening is via a powerful headphone amplifier, 6.35 mm and 3.5 mm compatible, incorporating Split Cue and Cue/Mix. The two backlit analogue VU meters make it easy to read the precise output level.

With its solid chassis, external SMPSU power supply and reliability-oriented design, the orbit.4 LE fx is equally at home in clubs, demanding studios or personal set-ups. Its combination of warm analogue circuitry, neat digital effects and a scalable isolator makes it a complete tool for expressive, controlled mixes.
