The Apollo Twin X DUO Heritage Edition combines all the qualities that UA is known for, adding the legendary collections of UAD plug-ins with the best analog processor emulations from Teletronix®, Pultec® and of course Universal Audio. All in a compact, portable and affordable home studio audio interface!
The Apollo Twin X DUO audio interface features two DSP processing cores, two XLR/1/4" combo inputs on the back of the sound card and a line-level input on the front. These inputs are routed to a pair of UNISON preamps that provide beautiful modeling of channel strips, guitar/bass amps and classic mic preamps.
They modify the behavior of the preamp's analog circuitry while applying modeling algorithms, resulting in exceptionally accurate emulations of mixing consoles and all-analog gear.
The Apollo Twin X Duo also offers an ADAT-S/PDIF optical digital input to add 8 additional digital channels.
Two pairs of monitor outputs on the Twin X Duo studio interface provide the ability to connect two pairs of active speakers, or two auxiliary output channels for your DAW. A headphone output with independent amp is also present.
If you find that this is not enough, it is possible to add up to 6 UAD-2 devices in total, four of which can be Apollo audio interfaces, to increase the number of I/O to your setup.
It is compatible with Mac and PC equipped with Thunderbolt 3 port (or 2 with an adapter). If you are unsure about compatibility with your computer, do not hesitate to contact us before your purchase.
Twin X comes with UA's Realtime Analog Classic bundle, which includes 14 compression, EQ, reverb and guitar amp plug-ins.
In addition to working directly in the UA Console software, UAD-2 plug-ins all have "encapsulated" versions (VST, AU, etc.) that you can load and use in your DAW but whose processing is transferred to the Twin X's DSP. This allows for near-seamless integration between the DSP hardware and your DAW, with no discernible difference between working with a standard plug-in or a UAD-2 plug-in.
