Designed for podcasting and music production, the Motu M2 audio interface combines professional-grade quality with great versatility for your recording sessions.
The device is USB-powered for optimum portability and ease of use. It includes a USB Type-C to Type-A cable to work with most computers. If your computer has USB Type-C ports, simply use a USB Type-C cable (available separately) to connect the two.
Alternatively, by using a USB Type-C power adapter, the M2 can be used as a standalone preamp and basic mixer, without a host computer. Simply engage the control button for each input (and 48V phantom power, if required), and adjust the preamp gain. Connect the main outputs to any line-level destination, such as a PA system or patch bay.
Featuring the same ESS Sabre32 Ultra DAC technology found in professional-grade audio interfaces, the M2 offers a dynamic range of 120 dB on its main outputs. The ESS converters also power the headphone output. The ultra-clean preamp circuits produce a measured EIN of -129 dBu on the mic inputs; this means that when recording, you’ll hear only the microphone, not the mic preamp.
The Motu M2 offers ultra-low latency for monitoring live inputs via your computer, thanks to MOTU’s expertly designed USB drivers. These provide a round-trip latency of 2.5 ms, measured with a 32-sample buffer at 96 kHz.
The M2 driver provides loopback channels to your host computer, so you can easily capture your computer’s output. Combine computer audio with live microphones whilst recording in your DAW, allowing you to capture guests via Skype or other VoIP programmes. You can also use the loopback function when streaming live on sites such as Twitch.
The M2 sound card also features 5-pin MIDI inputs and outputs, allowing you to connect a MIDI controller, sound module or even a workstation keyboard without needing to purchase a separate MIDI interface. The M2’s 6.3mm jack outputs are DC-coupled, allowing you to send MIDI data from your DAW as CV to analogue synthesisers, Eurorack modules and sequencers.
The M2 comes bundled with Ableton Live Lite and MOTU Performer Lite, popular and powerful DAWs designed for music recording and production. Over 100 instruments are also included for Performer Lite, along with 6 GB of loops, sounds and unique samples for both programmes.

Bonne carte son entrée de gamme. Son alimentation en usb (favoriser l'usb c sur votre ordinateur) permet d'en faire une carte nomade. Elle permet en plus une utilisation directe rapide avec la touche "Mon", ce qui est appréciable quand on veut brancher un instrument directement vers un ampli, et ses deux touches 48v qui permettent de brancher un micro studio sans envoyer du 48v sur les deux entrées. Un petit plus avec les indicateurs de niveaux en couleur.

Motu M2, seul vrais upgrade viable après un apple dongle ? Utilisé en setup hi-fi (pas en pro), à l’écoute sur la sortie jack c’est littéralement un Astell&Kern Kann Ultra à 3000 €, mais avec tout en mieux (sauf la puissance mais pas gênant avec ampli casque topping L30II, combo quasiment endgame). Entre chaque note : du silence total. 0 bruit, une gestion du signal propre, et 0,6 Ω sur la sortie jack. La sortie line-out est 99,9 % flat, en balanced ou en RCA, parfaite pour n’importe quel ampli casque. Franchement, ça enterre des DAC hi-fi à 10 000 €, où tu paies surtout les paillettes et le placebo. Le feeling des potentiomètres : 10/10, rien à redire. La sortie jack à 0.6 Ohm est vraiment incroyable, les autres marques sont juste mauvais sur ce point, jusqu'à 90 Ohm sur certains models, en moyenne à 10 Ohm qui est toujours 10x trop haut...
