The Sphere L22 was a microphone designed and manufactured by Townsend Labs. It is now reborn under the Universal Audio brand as the UA Sphere LX.

As with its predecessor, it aims to be the ultimate microphone since it can single-handedly provide the sound of legendary classic microphones used by the greatest artists, from the Beatles to Beyoncé to Radiohead and Frank Sinatra, in a more compact and accessible version.

This microphone allows you to have the sound of 20 of the most popular microphones, to change polar pattern and other characteristics, even after the recording. The Dual mode allows you to combine 2 microphones when you record, for example, snare drums or guitar amps.

The 20 models provided with the UA Sphere LX are mainly Neumann, Telefunken, AKG, Sony models...
With the Sphere LX, you no longer need to have one type of microphone per need, you have the opportunity to switch from a dynamic microphone emulation to a ribbon or condenser microphone, presenting all the qualities of the original modeled products.

With the UA Sphere LX, you can listen to these different types of classic microphones before, during and after recording, with any audio interface and in any sequencer (DAW or DAW).
Use it with an Apollo to benefit from almost zero latency.

And if you want to have immediate access to more models, opt for the Sphere DLX and its 38 models, delivered with a pro shock mount.

You can also combine classic microphones with Dual mode: this mode allows you to mix the sound of two mono microphones. This gives you beautiful microphone combinations to create your own signature.

Finally, thanks to IsoSphere, UA Sphere LX adapts to the acoustics of the room where you are recording. It helps to limit the coloration brought by your environment to obtain cleaner and more professional recordings. You have presets adapted to all situations, from compensating for the acoustics of your home studio to correcting the coloration brought by popular acoustic screens such as the sE Reflexion Filter, Aston Halo, Kaotica Eyeball, etc.
