Waves - Proton Duo

The Waves Proton Duo brings together in a single format three essential elements of a Waves live mixing system: a SoundGrid Proton server, an Axis Proton computer powered by Waves and an integrated network switch. This approach significantly reduces the footprint of a live system while simplifying connections and set-up on stage, on tour or in mobile broadcast configurations.

Designed to work with Waves SoundGrid platforms, the Proton Duo allows applications such as eMotion LV1 or SuperRack to be run directly from the device, without the need for several separate units. The system arrives preconfigured and ready to go. A simple Ethernet connection is all that's needed to integrate the Proton Duo into a SoundGrid environment and start using Waves plugins with a particularly low latency of just 0.8 ms at 48 kHz.

The 1U half-rack format makes it easy to integrate into lightweight mobile racks, compact fly cases or portable configurations that can be transported in a cabin. Despite its compact size, the Proton Duo retains full connectivity, with several USB, HDMI and Ethernet ports dedicated to SoundGrid audio and system functions. Its silent operation limits noise pollution in studio, broadcast or recording environments.

The Proton Duo is optimised for eMotion LV1 configurations of up to 16 channels and for SuperRack SoundGrid in live environments. It adds extra DSP power to the system while centralising Waves application hosting and plug-in processing in a single compact unit. The integrated network switch also simplifies cabling and reduces the number of devices needed in the rack.

This solution is particularly suited to live sound engineers, technical contractors, light touring systems, mobile broadcast installations or digital mixing setups requiring a SoundGrid system that is compact, quick to deploy and easy to transport.
