The Yamaha CXR15 MK3 set is a passive 2.1 system designed for sound reinforcement set-ups requiring greater presence in the low frequencies. The two 15" speakers provide the main sound output, whilst the 18" subwoofer delivers the bass range with greater depth. The system operates with an external amplifier and connects simply via SpeakON connectors. This type of setup is suitable for stages, outdoor events or installations requiring a powerful sound foundation.

The CXR15 MK3 speakers operate at 8 Ω with a power rating of 300 W RMS and a peak power of 1200 W. The 15" driver is paired with a 1-inch compression driver with a crossover frequency of 1.8 kHz. The frequency response ranges from 50 Hz to 20 kHz and the maximum sound pressure level reaches 126 dB. Yamaha recommends 600 W RMS amplification at 8 Ω to get the best performance from these speakers.

The CXS18 MK3 subwoofer operates at 8 Ω with a power rating of 500 W RMS and 1000 W peak. Its 18" driver extends down to 35 Hz to provide clear extension at the lower end of the spectrum. It achieves a maximum sound pressure level of 129 dB and requires a recommended amplifier output of 1000 W RMS at 8 Ω. Its plywood cabinet is fitted with handles, inserts and mounting points for integration into both fixed and portable installations.

The SpeakON NL4MP connectors allow for simple cabling between the various system components and the amplifier. The supplied SPW-1 castors mount directly onto the cabinet to simplify movement despite its considerable weight. The system is designed for performances where the equipment is regularly set up and taken down. After registering on the Yamaha website within 6 months of purchase, the speakers’ warranty can be extended to up to 7 years.
