Presentation
The Yamaha TAG1 E SandBurst takes the TransAcoustic approach in a dreadnought version without a cutaway, designed for those who prefer a traditional format with good acoustic projection. This version retains the essential functions of the second generation, while offering simple operation with no rechargeable battery management.
The TransAcoustic system is based on an internal actuator that uses the guitar body to distribute the effects. Here, the reverb and chorus do not pass through a loudspeaker but directly through the structure of the instrument. The result is consistent with the natural sound of the guitar, with a feeling of space that follows the dynamics of the playing.
The main effects are accessible via the integrated controls, allowing you to move quickly from a dry sound to a more open ambience. The delay completes these possibilities via the mobile app, which also lets you fine-tune certain settings. The built-in looper provides a practical function for recording and layering phrases, without the need for external equipment.
The TAG1 E SandBurst runs on two AA batteries, so you can get started quickly without having to recharge. This solution is particularly suited to occasional or mobile use, where simplicity is paramount.
The construction is based on a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides. The dreadnought format offers a full response, with good presence in the lower end of the spectrum and a projection suited to accompaniment. The SandBurst finish adds a more distinctive aesthetic, while remaining true to the spirit of the series.
All in all, it's an all-rounder that's designed for direct playing and sound experimentation without complex set-up.
