Presentation
The Yamaha TAS1 E Ultramarine builds on the foundations of the second-generation TransAcoustic series in a compact concert format, with a focus on playing precision and ease of use. This version, with no cutaway, is designed for a natural feel and balanced response, while incorporating all the essential features of the range.
The TransAcoustic principle is based on an internal actuator that sets the guitar body in vibration to generate the effects. Unlike a conventional amplified system, the reverb and chorus are produced directly by the wood of the instrument. This interaction ensures that the sound is consistent with acoustic sound, with a progressive sense of space that follows the dynamics of the playing.
The main effects can be accessed directly from the on-board controls, allowing you to adjust the sound quickly. The delay is available via the mobile app, which can also be used to fine-tune the settings. The built-in looper lets you record and layer phrases, making it easy to work solo or create accompaniments without external equipment.
The Ultramarine TAS1 E runs on two AA batteries, making it easy to use and get started straight away without the need to recharge. This configuration can be easily adapted to different contexts, whether at home or on the move.
The instrument is built around a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides. The concert format promotes a more precise and balanced response, with good definition in the midrange. The Ultramarine finish adds a distinctive visual touch, while retaining the sober identity of the series.
