The company has survived empires, weathered a move to the United States, and thrived through the Great Depression, two world wars, and economic crises. Today, the company controls 65 percent of the world’s cymbal market. But to the Zildjians, it’s more than just a business. It’s said that walking the halls of the Zildjian factory in Norwell, Massachusetts, is like getting a front-row seat to music history. The hallways are lined with photos of famous drummers like Ringo Starr and Roy Haynes. Drummers of all stripes often drop in to test out the latest Zildjian cymbals. There is even a pressurized chamber that can recreate the acoustics of concert halls around the world. However, the music industry is constantly on the move.
Having since become one of the greatest pioneers in the field of cymbals and exporting all over the globe, Zildjian has earned an international reputation thanks to its know-how, the high quality of its products and the wealth of musical instruments it offers to drummers and percussionists.
