Akai - MPC Sample
The Akai MPC Sample is a compact stand-alone sampler that takes the legendary MPC workflow and brings it to a portable format. Expressive pads, fast sampling, a built-in sequencer and creative effects make it possible to produce, transform and arrange sounds without a computer.
Presentation
At the heart of the experience are the 16 velocity-sensitive RGB MPC pads with poly-aftertouch. These pads don't just trigger sounds. They invite you to play rhythms, cut samples, improvise patterns and experiment with sound textures. The assignable fader and three knobs let you modify parameters or effects in real time, giving you a very direct sense of control over the sound.
The machine has been designed to get straight to the point. The 2.4-inch colour screen displays waveforms and simplifies sample editing. With just a few gestures, a recording can be sliced, reworked and redistributed across the pads. Sample Chop mode, for example, automatically splits a sample into several segments to recompose a rhythm or create new melodic variations.
The MPC Sample also includes ready-to-play content. Over 100 kits created by artists and producers are included so you can start building beats and songs straight away. The built-in MPC sequencer lets you organise patterns with the swing characteristic of the MPC series, while the Sequence Recall function automatically records MIDI performances so you never lose an improvised idea.
The effects engine opens up even more possibilities. With 60 effects spread over 4 processors, samples can be transformed in depth. Vinyl and Tape emulations add grain and texture, while other treatments modify the dynamics or rhythmic structure of the sound.
Designed for creation on the move, the machine is powered by a lithium-ion battery offering up to 5 hours of autonomy. An integrated microphone and speaker let you capture and listen to ideas immediately. The USB-C connection lets you transfer files, connect a computer or even sample directly from a smartphone.
With its compact size and straightforward workflow, the MPC Sample quickly becomes a small mobile studio. A machine capable of turning a quick idea into a full groove, whether on a desk, on a train or in the middle of a studio session.
