API Audio's Lunchbox 500-6B is an ideal solution for mobile studio use: take with you wherever you go to record with API's quality and signature sound!
Optional rack ears available for 19" rack mounting.
The 500 systems are the ideal combination of quality and flexibility for sound engineers who have to travel for their recordings: API 512c, 512v, 550a, 550b or 560, etc. the choice is yours, not to mention the fact that almost all third-party brands have also adapted their signal processors to the API 500 format.
The Lunchbox has an internal power supply and input/output sockets on XLR and SUB-D25 connectors.
The Lunchbox comes as standard with an internal phantom power supply of +48 volts, connected to pin 15 for interfacing with the API 512c microphone preamplifier.

WARNING: the chassis voltage can be switched between 115 and 230 V, so make sure that the selector is set to the correct voltage for the place where you are plugging it in, otherwise damage may occur that is not covered by the warranty.
Tip: the old 560A equaliser can use pin 15 for "direct output" and should be disabled on the edge connector of the 560A circuit board by cutting a trace. This will prevent the 48 volts from damaging the 560A series equalisers.
API makes several modules for the 500-6B, including the 512c mic preamp, the 525 compressor, the 527 compressor, the 550A 3-band EQ, the 550b 4-band EQ and the 560 graphic EQ. Combinations of these modules make perfect stereo recording packages (two 512cs and two 550bs) or a singer's box (one 512c, two EQs and one 527).
