Art PRO Audio - Pro VLA III
The fruit of decades of expertise honed by ART, the Pro VLA III extends the legend of tube optical compressors with an elegance as formidable as ever. Its 100% analogue circuit, powered by a generously grained 12AT7, breathes subtle relief into any mix. This jewel of compression masters dynamics with rare musicality: it polishes vocals, densifies bass and links instruments with natural cohesion. The Voice selector plays with the warmth of the tube and the clarity of the transistor, sculpting the ideal texture for each signal. And because accuracy is in the detail, each channel can be refined, linked or freed with a single gesture, to find that perfect balance between mastery and inspiration.
Presentation
Its 12AT7 tube delivers elegant harmonic coloration, capable of warming up a plug or beefing up a bus without ever saturating it unnecessarily. At the same time, the Solid State mode ensures clean, direct reproduction, ideal for sources requiring transparency. This dual character gives this compressor a rare versatility: you can go from vintage grain to surgical precision without lifting a finger.
The variable threshold and fixed input design promotes a progressive response, with no perceptible break-up, even at high compression levels. Extended ratio ranges, from 1.25:1 to 20:1, expand the possibilities: gentle mastering, subtle vocal control or creative drum crushing, anything is possible. The adjustable attack time from 0.25 to 50 ms and the adjustable release time from 150 ms to 3 s allow you to fine-tune the signal dynamics. This flexibility, combined with harmonic distortion of less than 0.005%, guarantees professional results in the most demanding situations.
On the front panel, three simultaneous indicators for input level, output level and gain reduction facilitate real-time adjustments. Each channel has its own bypass, ideal for instant comparison between the processed signal and the original source. At the rear, you'll find balanced inputs and outputs on XLR and ∅6.35 mm jacks, as well as a +4 dBu / -10 dBV selector to adapt to any studio environment. The whole thing exudes the robustness and precision of a tool designed to last.
