Synthesizer

The Arturia MicroBrute UFO condenses the essentials of a modern analogue synth into a compact Martian-looking case. With its 100% analogue oscillator, Steiner-Parker filter and famous Brute Factor, this special edition invites you to manipulate sonic electricity without limits or detours. Designed for those who like to lose themselves in raw textures, it features a direct interface, a 25-key keyboard, a patchable modulation matrix and a 64-step sequencer. The MicroBrute UFO connects via USB, MIDI or CV/Gate, and also processes external audio via its fat, edgy filter. Ideal for curious musicians, weekend tinkerers or fans of interstellar drones, it can be carried around with one hand and unleashes sonic storms at the slightest impulse. Arturia has produced a matt black edition with green highlights that won't go unnoticed.

ARTICLE N° 108841
When it was first released, the MicroBrute shook up the standards of compact synths. Today, Arturia's UFO edition takes the same 100% analogue base, but propels it into a parallel universe. The main oscillator combines classic shapes with exclusive modifiers: Ultra Saw, Metalizer and sub-oscillator turn any timbre into a modulation bomb. This edition hasn't just stood the test of time, it's distorted it.

Right now, you have in your hands a synth that loves shortcuts... but not menu shortcuts. The MicroBrute UFO prefers to let you turn knobs, trigger sequences and patch like a mad scientist. Its direct interface connects you to the sounds without a graphic interface or tiny screen. Just plug it in, turn a knob, and it rumbles, howls or grooves, depending on your mood.

Tomorrow, when you feel like sending your tunes to another galaxy, you won't have to look far. Thanks to MicroBrute UFO's patchable modulation matrix, you can build your own sound circuits. The audio input lets you play chemist with external signals, the Steiner-Parker filter pushes the limits of self-oscillation, and the Brute Factor adds that analogue voltage that makes everyone agree.

The MicroBrute UFO not only looks great, it also has an on-board sequencer capable of driving 8 patterns of 64 steps. You can record, trigger, modulate and synchronise your sequences via USB, MIDI or CV/Gate. Whether you're playing from a master keyboard or a modular keyboard, it'll keep pace with you without batting an eyelid. And with its portability, it fits just as well in a bag as in the corner of an inspired desk.

For those who like to play live, compose on the fly or test ideas into the wee hours of the night, the MicroBrute UFO offers an endless playground. The settings are all accessible, the results immediate, and there are plenty of happy accidents. It's a synth that likes to be pushed around, poked and prodded, and sometimes roughed up, but it's always ready for more. It will become part of your daily life sooner rather than later.

Founded in Grenoble in 1999, Arturia first made its mark with software emulations, before reviving interest in physical analogue machines with models such as the MiniBrute and then the MicroBrute.

To get the most out of the MicroBrute UFO, consider adding a few ∅3.5 mm mini-jack cables, a CV modulation controller, or even a small compact mixer to integrate external sources and create a hybrid modular setup.
