Presentation
The Yamaha reface DX is an acoustic ideas box. Behind its 37 HQ mini-keys, it hides a 4-operator FM engine that pushes the limits of synthesis. Each operator has infinitely variable feedback, opening the door to rich textures, from crystalline layers to rough bass. The multi-touch interface lets you control 4 parameters simultaneously, giving you the sensation of direct control over the acoustic material.
To add colour to your creations, two programmable effects blocks offer 7 different types: from expressive VCM Wah to atmospheric delay, flanger, phaser, chorus and distortion. Add to this the built-in phrase looper, ideal for capturing an idea on the fly or improvising live, and you've got an instrument that stimulates the imagination as much as it does practice.
The 8-voice polyphony lets you build rich chords, and the Mono mode with portamento and legato brings fluid leads and powerful bass to life. Two 2W stereo speakers with Bass Reflex technology deliver balanced audio, even without external amplification. As for connectivity, it's all there: USB TO HOST, MIDI I/O, 6.35 mm jack outputs, mini-jack auxiliary input, and a sustain pedal input for extending your FM sounds. Power is supplied via mains or 6 x LR14 batteries, with a runtime of around 5 hours.
Take your creativity everywhere! The pack includes the practical and stylish SC-reface case, which can be slung over the shoulder or worn as a rucksack, with a luggage loop and secret compartment for cables and adapters.

- Soundmondo is a free sound-sharing community that lets you discover, create and share reface sounds and set lists online, using Google Chrome from anywhere, whenever you're connected.
Based on Web MIDI technology, Soundmondo is easy to use: just connect reface to Chrome, and you're ready to create or browse.
- The entire reface range is now in version 1.3. We've added features that users have been waiting for on all models:
All models (CP, YC, CS, and DX): Editable Master Tuning, Master Transpose and MIDI channel selection.
Reface CS: You can now choose between using an expression pedal or a sustain pedal.
Reface CS: You can now set the pitch bend range to 2 semitones or 12 semitones.
Reface CS and DX: A dedicated looper click sound has been added. Reface YC: You can now change the speed of the Leslie cab simply by pushing the control lever upwards. This new feature really simplifies control during a live performance, for example!
