Virtual Instruments Software

Arturia V Collection 11 Intro is a suite of virtual instruments bringing together the essential sounds that have marked the history of electronic music. This compendium of 10 instruments brings together analogue legends, digital icons and more experimental hybrid synths. You'll find, for example, the Mini V, the DX7 V and the very recent Pure LoFi. With over 2,500 presets ready to be tinkered with via Analog Lab Intro, this introductory version opens the doors to the Arturia ecosystem. With its intelligent preset browser, high-definition interface, compatibility with the main plug-in formats and simplified MIDI mapping, everything is in place for your ideas to take shape without friction or unnecessary detours. It's a real sonic playground that gives you a real taste of what the complete collection has to offer.

For those of you who've never put your fingers into a vintage synth emulation, Arturia V Collection 11 Intro serves up a tasting menu that's as eclectic as it is energetic. From a bubbling Mini V to a DX7 V straight out of the 1980s, the Prophet V and Jun-6 V send out some pretty nostalgic vibes. The visually refined interface lets you play sound architect without getting lost in obscure sub-menus. Each synth has its own character, but all obey your every command.

With over 2,500 presets in the bag and Analog Lab Intro to sort through, you won't run out of creative fuel for a while. This sound search engine lets you tag, filter, reorganise, edit, combine and then remix what you've just combined. All without ever having to wonder where the "turn off frustration" button is hidden.

Arturia hasn't simply rehashed vintage sounds: here, every instrument benefits from in-house TAE and Phi modelling technologies, for a sound that's as biting as it is fluid. And with on-board effects, performance macros and MPE compatibility, you're encouraged to fiddle with the sounds like LFO-powered modelling clay.

V Collection 11 Intro adapts easily to your production environment, whether you're an Ableton Live, Logic Pro or die-hard Reaper user. And if your MIDI keyboard ever looks at you with round eyes, the mapping is automated and MPE compatibility guarantees expressive controls with no headaches.

As an added bonus, installation is via the Arturia Software Center, so there's no technical fiddling or reading of parchment involved. And because no one reads manuals any more (maybe you do?), tutorials are integrated directly into the application. There's no need to fuss over a half-open YouTube tab: everything is just a click away.

A little friendly advice: a MIDI controller such as KeyLab or MiniLab goes very well with this suite. They both speak the same language, so there's no need for technical hassles. And backlit buttons are always more stylish in the dark.

Compared with the previous version, this Intro edition of V Collection 11 includes 2 Augmented instruments and a more advanced approach to sound design, thanks in particular to Analog Lab Intro. If you've got an MPE-compatible MIDI control surface, you can even add a subtle touch of gesture to your compositions.

To take things even further, combine this suite with an Arturia KeyLab or MiniLab master keyboard. The mapping almost takes care of itself, and the whole thing becomes a real sound control station. And if you're the kind of person who procrastinates, the built-in tutorials will give you a creative kick-start.
