B&C Speakers - 15PK40 8 Ohm

The 15PK40 8 Ohm from B&C Speakers was designed to meet a very specific need: to provide a 15-inch speaker capable of effectively handling bass, low-mid, and midrange frequencies while maintaining a very good sound pressure level.

It is perfectly suited to robust two-way speakers, or as a bass driver in well-built three-way systems.

Under the cone, there is a 3-inch copper voice coil mounted on a fiberglass mount, capable of handling 400W continuously. This speaker is designed to handle the load without flinching, even when used over long sessions.

Its Xmax of ±4 mm provides good excursion without excessive distortion, and its sensitivity calculated at 98.28 dB allows it to be operated with reasonable amplification while maintaining good dynamics.

In terms of performance, it covers a range from 50 Hz to 2000 Hz, making it an excellent transducer for wide-area systems. Its ferrite motor combined with an aluminum basket ensures both robustness and mechanical precision.

The suspension and moving part (mms: 84 g) were designed to combine responsiveness and control, without excessive bass drag.

With a 140-liter VAS and a recommended tuning around 50-60 Hz, it integrates well into conventional bass-reflex loads. Its 394 mm outer diameter, 355 mm cutout, and standard format allow for easy integration into 15" subwoofers.

The 15PK40 is therefore a very good compromise for sound engineers and speaker manufacturers looking for a powerful, efficient, and reliable driver across the entire bass and midrange.
