Presentation
The DE14 16 Ohm compression driver is part of B&C Speakers' range of compact high-frequency drivers, developed to meet the needs of professional loudspeakers requiring a good balance between efficiency, stability and compact size.
With its compact size and proven design, it is equally suited to compact two-way loudspeakers and installed sound diffusion systems.
Equipped with a 25 mm (1") throat, the DE14 is compatible with many of the brand's standard horns, particularly those designed for close-fitting applications or smaller front speakers.
Its operating range of 2 kHz to 18 kHz enables it to be used effectively in the treble channel, with a recommended cut-off frequency of 2.2 kHz, combined with filtering of at least 12 dB/octave. This configuration ensures stable operation, while preserving the linearity and durability of the motor.
The Mylar (polyester) diaphragm plays a central role in the behaviour of the DE14. This material is renowned for its lightness and smoothness of response, contributing to a smooth, homogenous reproduction of high frequencies.
It also limits distortion in the useful operating zone, while offering good mechanical strength over time. The 36 mm aluminium voice coil contributes to the thermal efficiency and overall performance of the motor.
