Presentation
The DE16 8 Ohm compression driver is one of B&C Speakers' classic and proven solutions for high-frequency reproduction in professional PA systems.
It has been designed for smoothness of response, efficiency and reliability, while retaining a compact size that makes it easy to integrate into a wide variety of loudspeakers.
Equipped with a 25 mm (1") throat, the DE16 is compatible with many standard horns, including those used in compact two-way speakers or stage monitors. Its bandwidth extends from 1.5 kHz to 18 kHz, with a recommended crossover frequency of 2.2 kHz, combined with filtering of at least 12 dB/octave.
This configuration ensures stable, controlled operation, while preserving the linearity of the motor in its optimum operating range.
The low-mass Mylar diaphragm is one of the key elements in the DE16's behaviour. This material provides a particularly smooth frequency response, while limiting distortion at the top end of the spectrum.
Combined with a 44 mm aluminium voice coil, it contributes to a precise and coherent sound reproduction, suitable for applications requiring good intelligibility and homogeneous diffusion.
