The DE12 16 Ohm compression driver is part of B&C Speakers' range of compact high-frequency drivers, developed for professional loudspeakers requiring clear high-frequency reproduction in a controlled format.
It is designed for applications where reliability, regularity of response and ease of integration are paramount, whether in mobile PA systems or fixed installations.
Featuring a 25 mm (1") throat, the DE12 is compatible with a wide range of standard horns, including those used in compact two-way loudspeakers or proximity broadcast systems.
Its operating range extends from 1.5 kHz to 18 kHz, with a recommended minimum cut-off frequency of 2.2 kHz, combined with filtering of at least 12 dB/octave. This configuration guarantees stable, controlled operation, while preserving the linearity of the motor in its optimum operating range.
The Mylar (polyester) diaphragm plays an essential role in the behaviour of the DE12. Light and regular, this material favours a homogeneous frequency response and helps to limit distortion at the top end of the spectrum.
It also offers good mechanical strength over time, suitable for repeated professional use. The 36 mm aluminium voice coil contributes to the thermal efficiency and overall performance of the motor.
