The DE5 16 Ohm compression driver is one of the most compact solutions developed by B&C Speakers for high-frequency reproduction.
With its 13 mm (1/2") throat and reduced external diameter, it is ideal for very small loudspeakers, in-car systems or applications where every millimetre counts, without sacrificing acoustic efficiency.
This model is designed to operate comfortably from 2.5 kHz, making it clearly intended for use in the treble channel.
Its response extends to 18 kHz, ensuring clear, precise reproduction of the high end of the spectrum, suitable for proximity broadcasting applications, compact two-way speakers or systems requiring controlled directivity in a discrete format.
The Mylar diaphragm plays an essential role in the motor's robustness and stability. This polyester material is renowned for its good mechanical and thermal resistance, while offering smooth, controlled reproduction.
Combined with a 25 mm aluminium voice coil, it enables the DE5 to achieve a high sensitivity of 109 dB, a remarkable figure given its particularly small size.
