Presentation
The DE7 4 Ohm compression driver is one of the compact solutions developed by B&C Speakers for applications where space, weight and efficiency need to be perfectly controlled.
With its very small size and simple design, it is aimed primarily at small broadcast systems, compact loudspeakers and in-car applications requiring clear reproduction of the high end of the spectrum without excessive complexity.
Equipped with a 19 mm (3/4") throat, the DE7 is designed to work with horns adapted to this format, allowing direct integration into speakers with low internal volume.
Its frequency response covers the range from 2 kHz to 18 kHz, making it a natural choice for high-frequency applications, with a recommended crossover frequency of around 2.5 kHz to ensure stable, controlled operation.
The Mylar (polyester) diaphragm contributes to the robustness of the motor, while ensuring even, coherent reproduction at the top end of the spectrum. Combined with a 25 mm aluminium voice coil, it achieves a sensitivity of 107 dB, offering good performance in view of the motor's very compact size.
This efficiency makes it easy to combine with midrange or bass drivers in simple two-way systems.
