B&C Speakers - DE900 8 Ohm Driver

The B&C Speakers DE900 8 Ohm is a 1.4-inch compression driver aimed at system designers looking for the best combination of efficiency, clarity and compactness. It delivers a sensitivity of 109.5 dB, enabling dynamic sound reproduction with low power consumption, while retaining sufficient power reserve for complex sound environments.

Under the bonnet, this model features a 75 mm aluminium coil, wound flat for better electromagnetic control. This technology, combined with a titanium diaphragm reinforced with a layer of mylar, combines rigidity and flexibility. The result is a smoother treble response, less distortion and greater finesse on vocals and acoustic instruments.

The whole unit is driven by a compact neodymium motor, optimised by FEA simulation and complemented by a copper demodulation ring. This configuration maximises the linearity of the magnetic field, reducing distortion peaks, even at high levels. As a result, the DE900 delivers a well-controlled response down to 18 kHz, with good handling of fast transients.

With a power rating of 80 W AES and 160 W programme, it can easily be integrated into compact bi-amp or line array systems. Its recommended crossover frequency of 1.2 kHz means that it can easily be combined with midrange speakers without any dead zones or perceptible breaks.

With a diameter of 132 mm and a depth of just 65 mm, the DE900 is a discreet driver, perfect for space-constrained loudspeakers. Its 4-point M6 mounting over 102 mm makes it compatible with many 1.4" horns. It will naturally find its place in touring systems, stage monitors or high-quality fixed installations.
