The Beyerdynamic M88 is a dynamic moving-coil microphone designed for both vocal and instrumental recording applications. Its hypercardioid polar pattern prioritises sound sources positioned directly in front of the capsule whilst reducing signals from the sides and rear, which helps to minimise interference, crosstalk and the risk of feedback.
Its extended frequency response, ranging from 30 Hz to 20 kHz, allows for the reproduction of signal details with particularly precise rendering of low frequencies. Fitted with a high-sensitivity neodymium magnet, it delivers a high output level whilst requiring little gain.
Its Hostaphan diaphragm, hum-compensating voice coil and robust brass body complete a design that is handcrafted in Germany, suitable for both studio and live performance use.
