ARTICLE N° 87304
The Electro-Voice PL24S dynamic handheld microphone is designed for a wide range of vocal applications on stage, behind a podium and wherever a high-quality handheld microphone is required.

The PL24-S has a supercardioid pick-up pattern for minimum noise and feedback. It is the most effective at minimising off-axis noise and feedback. The neodymium magnet in its capsule provides high output and low noise without the need for an external power supply.

The inside of the PL24S microphone's Memraflex metal grille has several layers of insulation to reduce wind noise, sibilance and plosives when recording and/or performing live.

The purpose of the name PL24-S corresponds to the S switch fitted to the stage microphone. This enables the microphone to be activated and deactivated with the swipe of a finger.

As with most directional microphones, the low-frequency response of the PL24S microphone varies with distance from the sound source. Known as the 'proximity effect', the low-frequency response of the microphone increases as the working distance of the microphone is reduced.

This "bass amplification" is only audible when working at distances of less than 15 cm. Using this microphone at distances greater than 15 cm causes a slight coloration with minimal proximity effect.

The proximity effect can be used to your advantage when recording a weak voice. The closer the singer is to the microphone, the better the low frequencies are picked up. Positioning the microphone closer will also reduce potential feedback.
