The Shure SM7B and Triton Audio FetHead bundle combines a large-diaphragm dynamic microphone with a microphone preamp. The aim is to make the most of the microphone’s natural character on its own, without distorting it with the preamp stages of an interface or mixing desk. Thanks to the combination of the SM7B and the FetHead, this bundle is a perfect alternative to the SM7dB, offering a solution based on two separate components.

Presentation
At the heart of this system, the SM7B features a large capsule with a frequency response ranging from 50 Hz to 20 kHz. A range of settings can be accessed via the Flat, Bass Rolloff and Presence Boost switches, allowing the sound reproduction to be tailored to the requirements of the signal being processed.
Reinforced magnetic shielding also helps protect against certain electromagnetic interference that may affect the signal in busy technical environments.
For its part, the FetHead adds up to +27 dB of gain thanks to a low-noise Class A FET amplifier. This design allows the preamplifier to be inserted directly into the XLR link, whilst maintaining a simple and compact architecture within the audio chain.
Both units retain a fully analogue approach to signal processing and will integrate easily into a wide range of audio setups.
