The Cayin MT50 Plus KT88 Black is an integrated valve amplifier that impresses with its balance of musicality, versatility and ease of use. It is based on four KT88 tubes configured in push-pull, combined with a 25AX4GT RCA rectifier and three 5BK7A triodes. This configuration delivers 2 x 40 watts in ultra-linear mode or 2 x 21 watts in triode mode.
The main advantage of this unit is the ability to choose between two listening modes. Triode mode offers a smooth, warm and textured sound. Ultra-linear mode prioritises greater power and deeper bass. This flexibility allows the amplification to be adapted to the speakers used and the listener’s personal preferences.
Hand-built, the MT50 Plus KT88 Black features point-to-point wiring and a bespoke toroidal transformer that reduces electromagnetic interference. Its frequency response, from 10 Hz to 50 kHz, preserves the integrity of the audio signal.
In terms of connectivity, it integrates easily into any modern Hi-Fi system thanks to its three RCA inputs and its Bluetooth receiver, which supports SBC, AAC and aptX. This makes it possible to stream music wirelessly from a smartphone, tablet or computer.
