Presentation
The TG Microphone Cassette from the famous North American manufacturer Chandler Limited is a complete channel strip, designed using components that were used during recording/mastering sessions at the legendary EMI/Abbey Road TG12345 studio in the late 60s and 70s.
The critically acclaimed TG Microphone Cassette was designed as follows:
- the preamp section follows the recipe of the TG2, based on the vintage EMI TG12428 (the TG2 preamp section is coupled directly to the Curve Bender equalizer section (the TG2 preamp section and the EQ output control work like a console fader)
- the EQ section is based on that of the TG12345 Curve Bender.
- the limiter section is that of the TG1 opto compressor (TG12413), a first for Chandler.
These elements have been combined to create the TG Microphone Cassette, a legendary sound within the reach of modern studios.
The TG1 Opto compressor section of the TG Microphone Cassette is fully independent and separately patchable (via a standard XLR connection) from the TG2 Pre Amp / Curve Bender EQ section, allowing the compressor/limiter to be used individually on sources. An XLR cable (purchased separately) is required to connect the TG1 Opto compressor to the TG Microphone Cassette chain. The TG1 Opto can be connected in stereo to a second unit via a standard 6.35 mm jack cable.
Please note that all Chandler Limited units are supplied without a power supply. You will therefore need to purchase one separately.
