D'Angelico - Deluxe 59 Satin Honey

The satin honey finish is the first thing that catches the eye on the D’Angelico Deluxe 59, before the fully hollow body takes centre stage when you touch it. The laminated maple top, sides and back form a single-cutaway hollow-body guitar, 406.40 mm wide and 44.45 mm deep. The 635.00 mm (25") scale length spans the D’Angelico Electrozinc 10-46 strings over a fretboard radius of 304.80 mm (12"), providing an ideal playing surface for both chord work and melodic lines.

The three-piece neck, alternating maple and walnut, with a C-shaped profile and a satin finish, is set into the body via a set neck and widens from 20 mm at the first fret to 22 mm at the twelfth. Its ebony fingerboard features twenty-two Jescar 47/104 nickel-silver frets beneath Split Block mother-of-pearl inlays, complemented by side inlays. A 42.86 mm wide bone nut marks the start of the fingerboard, whilst a double-action truss rod, housed beneath an ebony Skyscraper plate, adjusts the neck’s curvature. Three-ply binding on the headstock and fingerboard, and five-ply binding on the body, frame the instrument, beneath a satin-finished standard-shaped headstock engraved with the D’Angelico New York and Deluxe Shield logos in mother-of-pearl, and numbered on the back with the model name.

The gold-plated Tune-O-Matic bridge and the D’Angelico Stairstep tailpiece help maintain tuning alongside the Grover 509 Super Rotomatic locking tuners, the hardware — Cream Cupcake knobs with gold lettering, lockable strap buttons — finished in gold. The two Seymour Duncan D’Angelico Great Dane P-90 pickups, with cream covers, are controlled by a volume, a tone and a three-position Chickenhead selector switch, connected to 500k potentiometers and a standard mono jack. A five-ply Scalini Tortoise pickguard completes the body, which has no backplate. Model number DAD59SHNGT, weighing 6.86 kg, made in Korea, the guitar comes in a Deluxe Hardshell case
