EarthQuaker Devices - Sunn O))) Life Pedal V3

The Sunn O))) Life Pedal v3 is a distortion pedal that also features a metered top octave and a booster.
Designed with a compact case that can be easily integrated into a pedalboard, it features 3 distinct sections: Amplitude (distortion) / Upper octave / Magnitude (booster).

The Amplitude section is based on the classic White Face distortion and features 3 clipping modes. There are three clipping modes:
- 1st mode - no diode but with op-amp: Guarantees a big, squeaky sound at maximum volume (distortion),
- 2nd mode - 2 silicon diodes and an LED: Offers a softer, compressed crunch sound like a tube amp
- 3rd mode - 2 silicon diodes: Restores the original Sunn O distortion)))

The Octave section features an analogue rectifier added to a classic vintage design. It has been reworked to be more pronounced without losing bass.
Located at the input of the circuit, the Octave control gradually adds the octave effect to your sound and, although the section benefits from a dedicated footswitch with Flexi-Switch technology, it can also be controlled directly via an expression pedal (not supplied).

The Magnitude section is a simple booster designed to push your preamp tubes. It's a 100% clean, high-impedance booster that adds very little colour to the sound. It doesn't add any saturation per se but offers plenty of output level to make your amp saturate.

With this arsenal of distortions, the Sunn O))) Life Pedal v3 is perfectly suited to drone metal fans, thanks in particular to its powerful, long-lasting saturation.
