Electro Voice Evolve 50M Active floorstanding PA system featuring a 12" subwoofer, an 8-driver 3.5" floorstanding speaker, QuickSmart Link technology, integrated DSP and mixer, effects and a Bluetooth receiver for streaming from a smartphone or computer. The complete Electro Voice Evolve 50M sound system consists of three components: a 12-inch subwoofer, an array of 8 column-mounted 3.5-inch neodymium speakers and a Class D amplifier that powers the whole system and delivers up to 1000 Watts of output power, over a frequency response of between 43Hz and 20kHz.
Developed in collaboration with the team of electronics engineers at EV's sister brand, Dynacord, the fully-configurable on-board digital mixer features multiple inputs (4x XLR/TRS combo mic/line inputs, 1x XLR/TRS combo stereo line input, 1x RCA, 1x 3.5mm stereo mini jack, 1x Hi-Z instrument input) with professional-quality preamps and mixing functions. The mixer can be controlled via the QuickSmart Mobile app or via the single-button/LCD interface.
The QuickSmart Link feature developed by Electro Voice makes it easy to combine two Evolve 50Ms for use with larger bands or gigs requiring more inputs. Simply link the systems together via an Ethernet cable to create an uncompressed digital audio/control connection, pair the two systems to a single mobile device via the QuickSmart Mobile app (available from the Apple App Store and Google Play), and get full mixing control of both systems. For applications requiring fewer inputs, but still requiring a mixer and stereo output, the Evolve 50M can be paired with an Evolve 50 via the XLR MIX OUT connector.

The QuickSmart DSP lets you navigate system parameters via an LCD screen with single-button control, as well as multiple options for signal routing and inputs. Features include 4 presets (Music, Live, Speech, Club), 3-band system EQ (low, mid, high), 7-band graphic EQ (in Mixer mode), 5 user-programmable presets (store and recall settings), phantom power, visual limiter status control, input level control and indicators, and master volume control to optimise gain structure.
All of the above audio functions can also be controlled via the QuickSmart Mobile app - fine-tune the sound of your system from across the room, hearing what the audience hears. The fully configurable app has an intuitive, easy-to-read user interface and uses Bluetooth* Low Energy (BTLE) technology to adjust and control all settings, enabling users of all levels to enjoy great sound.
What are the main differences between the Evolve 50M and the Evolve 50?
The input section of the mixer on the Electro-Voice Evolve 50M has been improved, and now includes four mic inputs (one of which can also be used as a DI input), a stereo line input and a stereo Bluetooth input. Internal DSPs handle processing and effects (which include two internal aux effects for reverb and delay, for example, as well as 3-band and graphic EQs), and you can control all functions either using the display and encoder, or with Electro-Voice's QuickSmart phone/tablet app.
The network port known as QuickSmart Link, which has been added to the Evolve 50M, greatly expands the possibilities for use. By linking two Evolve 50Ms via Ethernet, you not only get a true stereo system, but the mixing sections of each unit are combined, allowing you to handle up to 8 microphone signals (or 6 microphones and 2x instrument DIs), 2 stereo line signals and two Bluetooth streams, all without an external mixer.
