SE Electronics - V7 X

The sE Electronics V7 X uses the same architecture as the V7, but with a new focus on instrumental recording. Whereas the classic V7 is optimised for vocals, this version is better suited to close sources such as amplifiers, drums or acoustic instruments.

The dynamic capsule combined with a supercardioid directional pattern enables the source to be picked up precisely, while limiting distortion. This configuration is particularly useful on stage and in the studio, especially for isolating an amplifier or percussion instrument in a dense environment.

The frequency response from 40 Hz to 19 kHz is balanced, with good midrange clarity and clear reproduction of transients. This signature makes it possible to capture a variety of sources without excessive coloration, while preserving the character of the instrument.

The microphone incorporates an internal capsule suspension that limits handling noise and vibrations. The internal windscreen helps to reduce plosives when used on vocals, as well as softening certain attacks on instrumental sources. An additional windscreen is supplied for customisation.

The V7 X works without an external power supply and is connected via a standard XLR output. It can be used on guitar or bass amps, snare drums, toms, brass or acoustic instruments, both live and in the studio.
