The BQS-HZ system is a complete package for controlling your passive bass like a pro. With its active 3-band EQ, you can sculpt the bass, midrange and treble by simply turning the knobs. The active balance lets you mix your microphones without losing signal, and the variable midrange control (from 100Hz to 1kHz) refines the sound with precision.

Presentation
The EMG BQS-HZ system is an all-in-one solution for equipping a passive bass with high-quality active electronics. It is specially designed for use with passive pickups or EMG HZ pickups.
The pack includes an active balance, master volume and full 3-band EQ with parametric midrange adjustment. The midrange is controlled via a concentric potentiometer: the frequency is selectable from 100 Hz to 1 kHz, and you can adjust the gain (boost/cut) at will.
All the pots have a click point in the centre for easy retrieval of a neutral response. The EQ circuit is active: in each band, turning to the right amplifies the signal, turning to the left cuts it.
Bass control is centred around 50 Hz with a gentle slope of 6 dB/octave. The treble can be customised by means of an internal dip-switch that lets you choose between 4 different response curves.
The system runs on a 9V battery, but can be powered from an 18V supply for greater dynamic range. Installation is made easy by pre-welded cabling and quick connectors. Each set includes 5 complete kits, perfect for luthiers, workshops or musicians with several instruments.
