The EMG MMTWX Black is the weapon for bassists looking for nuance without sacrificing impact. Beneath its wide, Music Man-format bonnet, this active pickup hides a dual character: wild humbucker or nervous single coil. The included push/pull switch lets you switch from one to the other without thinking, just by feel.
In humbucker mode, you'll enjoy a muscular output that's clear and hum-free, thanks to a shielded construction and an ultra-quiet in-house preamp. Ceramic and steel magnets combine to produce a tight, dense grain that's always under control. It's heavy, but it's clean.
Switch to single coil and you'll find a drier, more punchy attack. The midrange rises, the treble opens up, and the nuances of the playing come to the fore. It's not the same microphone, and that's where the magic happens.
All the wiring is solderless, as usual with EMG. You get a complete kit, ready to install: 25k push/pull, tone, stereo jack, battery bus, screws and connectors. Please note: it is not compatible with BT/BQ systems.
