When you're playing live, background noise or loss of dynamic range can quickly become a nuisance. The EMG SAV solves this problem with its active design and low noise level. It retains the character of the original Strat pickups, while adding stability to the signal.
Its attack remains clear even when you're playing fast horns or nuanced arpeggios. It's perfect for styles where the clean sound needs good definition: soul, funk, pop, blues, even light jazz. The pickup expresses itself well in clean but doesn't saturate too quickly when you turn up the gain, so it can also be used in a slightly crunchy register.
The flat Alnico V magnets avoid frequency peaks and provide balance on all strings. It works perfectly with other EMG pickups or modules like the SPC. The Solderless system makes it easy to assemble without special tools, and the whole unit runs on a single 9V battery.
