EMG - Set PJCS Black

Introducing the EMG PJCS Black set: an active trio chiselled for those who don't pretend when they plug in their bass. Two LJCS pickups on the back and a PCS on the neck, all fitted with ceramic magnets and a pair of steel bars. The result? An attack as clean as an uppercut in a slap solo.

The P pickup (PCS) delivers a robust signal at 2 volts per string, with resonance around 2.6 kHz. There's plenty of growl, but no muddle. At the rear, the two J pickups (LJCS) complete the picture with a higher response (3.2 kHz) and a bite that stands out when played with the fingers or in palm mute. The bass/click duo works like a charm.

The whole unit remains very quiet, even at high volumes. Less than -100 dB of background noise measured at 60 Hz. In other words, it never interferes with your recordings. The dynamics are there: 8 volts peak when you're hitting it hard, and an output impedance of 3 kOhms to keep the line stable, even when the pedalboard is fully loaded.

Powered by 9V (up to 27V tolerated if you like to push), this set runs for around 800 hours on battery power. EMG's solderless wiring means you don't have to bother with a soldering iron. Everything is included in the kit: 25K pots, cables, foam, screws, power bus. A truly complete kit, designed to be assembled in one session and tested at the next rehearsal.
