Epiphone - Matt Heafy Les Paul Custom Origins 7
These models in stock may be of interest to you:
The talented Matt Heafy, singer and guitarist of the band Trivium, has once again teamed up with Epiphone to create his signature model. Based on the Les Paul custom model, it takes its foundations with a mahogany body, a maple top, a mahogany neck with SlimTaper "D" profile and an ebony fingerboard. But to meet the needs of the guitarist, the latter is equipped with Fishman Fluence signature pickups with 3 voicings and a 25.5" scale.
Presentation
Having cut his teeth on a Gibson Les Paul Custom given to him by his father, Matt Heafy has always evolved around his favorite instrument, and with few exceptions, has recorded and toured with this extremely effective guitar.
When Epiphone proposed to the artist to launch his signature model, he did not hesitate for a single second to start from this solid base: a mahogany body with maple top for a massive and precise sound, an ebony fingerboard for bring out its attack to the maximum, a neck with a SlimTaper “D” cutout for maximum playing comfort.
The real evolution of this 3rd generation comes from the replacement of the EMG pickups for Fishman Fluence Matt Heafy Custom pickups (apologies!). Based on the Fluence Modern, renowned for their precision, their aggressiveness and especially their multiple voicings, the artist's signatures have reworked frequencies and above all a 3rd voicing: the split coil (single coil sound).
From now on, the guitar of this sacred monster is no longer just a Metal machine but a versatile instrument with something under the hood.
By pulling the respective volume knobs, the tone will change from a modern active pickup sound to a response closer to a passive pickup (for a little more fat and dynamics).
By engaging the push-pull of the Tone knobs, you will reach the split coil function and access a crystalline, fine and precise sound.
It's impossible not to find your ideal configuration on this fabulous guitar, and fans of "modern" music will be happy to seek lower tunings thanks to the 7th string naturally tuned to B (SI).
