ESI Audiotechnik - unik 08+

The ESI Audiotechnik uniK 08+ was developed in Germany with a clear objective in mind: to offer an active monitoring loudspeaker capable of meeting the high demands of professional environments while maintaining a controlled format. It is a direct evolution of the uniK series, with a completely revised internal architecture, both in terms of signal processing and amplification.

This loudspeaker is based on a bi-amplified MOS-FET design, with a low impedance, very low noise power supply and processing section. This architecture ensures rapid response, excellent dynamic response and stable reproduction, even at sustained listening levels. Analogue processing inspired by vintage circuits, using LC gyrator technology, contributes to a smooth and natural reproduction, suitable for long studio sessions.

The bass register is handled by an 8-inch driver with a composite Kevlar cone. This material, renowned for its rigidity and lightness, allows a highly controlled piston movement, delivering a deep, precise and articulate bass. The uniK 08+'s low-frequency extension enables it to cover a wide range of frequencies without the need for a subwoofer. High frequencies are reproduced by a magnetostatic tweeter with very low moving mass, guaranteeing fast response, excellent definition and faithful reproduction of transients.

The uniK 08+ also stands out for its ability to adapt to room acoustics. A central control lets you adjust the overall sonic character, from a soft reproduction to a brighter signature. Independent bass and treble adjustments complete this fine-tuning, enabling listening to be optimised according to the positioning of the speakers and the constraints of the room. The input level is managed by a true precision gain attenuator, ensuring perfect coherence between the speakers in a stereo system.
