The SC208 responds at low frequencies and can go down to 36 Hz. The 8" Silvercone woofer driven by a 1.5"" voice coil ensures that you won't miss out on any bass when listening to reviews or comparing mixes. The bass is precise and dynamic, thanks to the longer, more linear travel. A PWM amplifier, incorporating protection, and capable of delivering an instantaneous output power of 150W, ensures that the SC208 never runs out of power. And with a maximum output level of 112dB (SPL @ 1m), you can be sure of having enough power to make critical and accurate judgements on your mixes. The SC208s also incorporate the proprietary AMT RS2 (Ribbon System 2), for added efficiency. Like all Eve Audio monitors, the SC208 has balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs. Each EVE Audio monitor is equipped with high-precision DSP electronics, making it easy to adjust the monitor's crossover sections, volume and phase to the conditions of use via a single LED rotary knob on the front panel. The DSP is based on a high-quality Burr-Brown A/D converter that delivers a flawless signal to the DSP section. And because the PWM amplification is directly connected to the DSP section, no additional conversion is required, ensuring reliability. DSP adjustments and management are easy, without the need for additional tools. A circle of LEDs clearly indicates the status of adjustment settings. All volume and room adaptation settings can be locked using a DIP switch on the back of the monitor to prevent any operating errors. When designing the bass-reflex air columns, Eve Audio sought to minimise the negative effects on bass distortion. Traditionally, as you turn up the volume, the efficiency of the vent decreases and distortion increases. Eve Audio has therefore opted for a wide, rectangular rear port, for greater efficiency at low frequencies. The result? High acoustic pressure with punchy, accurate bass, free from distortion.
