Presentation
The FreqInOut F01 is unclassifiable. We've lumped it into the audio interface (or sound card) category, but that's not really it.
The arrival of the Freqport FreqInOut F01 marks a significant turning point for any audio engineer or music producer aspiring to combine the sonic richness of external analog equipment with the flexibility and convenience of a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). Traditionally, incorporating external processors, effects, or instruments into a digital environment has proven to be a process fraught with challenges: laborious setups, complex cabling, delicate latency management, and synchronization issues during recording were commonplace. These challenges, often requiring a high level of technical expertise and sometimes hampered by insufficient physical audio inputs/outputs, resulted in considerable time wastage and palpable frustration, dissuading many users from using their precious analog equipment.
This is where freqport ingeniously comes in with its FreqInOut F01: it presents itself as a disarmingly simple all-in-one solution. Connected to your computer via a single USB-C cable, this interface, equipped with four audio inputs and four outputs, allows seamless integration of your external equipment directly into your audio software. Installation is as simple as plugging in the device, installing the dedicated software, powering it on, and opening the interface. This completely eliminates the complexity inherent in configuring external effects and instruments in your DAW. The FreqInOut effectively transforms your external hardware into true plug-ins within your digital environment.
This system includes a powerful multi-instance VST, AU, and AAX plug-in. Ultra-low jitter audio synchronization between the host and the hardware ensures impeccable sound quality, while the high-quality 32-bit ESS audio converters operating at up to 192 kHz ensure seamless, bit-perfect audio conversion. The FreqInOut plugin also features a hardware MIX to create a parallel mix of the wet and dry signals from any connected equipment, providing increased processing flexibility. Additionally, Mid/Side (M/S) functionality is integrated for precise stereo imaging control.
A particularly innovative feature is the ability to scan the plugin's QR code to take a photo of your connected equipment, transforming that image into a custom plugin skin. FreqInOut seamlessly integrates all your external processors, effects, and real instruments into your mix, saving you valuable time on complex setups while adding new features such as MIX for parallel processing, M/S mode, and an Analog Matrix for routing your signal flow. Multiple analog processing circuits allow for the simultaneous processing of multiple audio signals in your digital workflow—a feat impossible with single-circuit analog processors. It is even possible to connect two FreqInOut units to have 8 mono or 4 stereo inputs/outputs.

To go further...
It's important to note that the FreqInOut is not a sound card. It enhances your existing audio setup by adding additional channels and offering its own unique features. It integrates easily with your current audio interface. The Freqport system operates separately from the main audio I/O used in the DAW. It is recommended to use a Core Audio (on macOS) or ASIO (on Windows) audio interface as your DAW's main interface and work with low latency before using the FreqInOut F01.
