Presentation
The Godin 5th Avenue Kingpin P90 left-handed Cognac Burst guitar recaptures the spirit of the archtops of the 1950s with a modern approach. It's aimed at left-handed musicians who want an acoustic and electric instrument in the same spirit. Its Canadian wild cherry body provides good sound projection. It's still comfortable to hold and easy to play on a daily basis.
The top and back are arched, helping to give more resonance and presence in the bass and midrange. The silver leaf maple neck is combined with a rosewood fingerboard for a fluid playing feel. The 630.9 mm scale and 16-inch radius make for a fairly supple grip. The 21 frets allow expressive playing without unnecessary complexity.
The Godin Kingpin P90 pickup in neck position gives a single-coil sound with grain and clarity. Adjustments are limited to volume and tone to keep things direct and effective. The adjustable Tusq Graphtech bridge helps to keep intonation stable. This guitar responds well to both acoustic and amplified playing.
The sound style is suited to jazz, blues, roots rock and slide. It retains a natural dynamic range that responds well to the player's touch. The differentiated-ratio action makes for precise, stable tuning. The gradient Cognac finish gives it a classic look with a warm touch.
