Presentation
A sky-blue finish that stands out sharply against the black of the amplifiers, a double cutaway that promises easy access to the higher frets without any unnecessary fuss: this is the hallmark of the Premier DC 2022. D’Angelico has created its most visually striking model to date, finished in a high-gloss varnish.
The semi-hollow body with a central block, measuring 406.40 mm wide by 44.45 mm deep, retains the warmth of hollow wood whilst ensuring sustain without feedback. The laminated maple top, sides and back form a cohesive body, tailored for both riffs and arpeggios. The chrome-plated Tune-O-Matic bridge adjusts intonation with precision.
The C-profile maple neck measures 20 mm at the first fret and 22 mm at the twelfth: the playability follows the Premier design philosophy. An ovangkol fingerboard, 355.60 mm radius, 22 Medium Vintage frets, a PPS nut and chrome-plated Grover 109 Super Rotomatic tuners complete a solid foundation under the fingers.
The two chrome-plated Seymour Duncan Designed HB-102N and HB-101B humbuckers, controlled by two volume controls, two tone controls and a three-position selector switch, deliver a tone ranging from crystal-clear clean to heavy crunch. A Stopbar tailpiece, a 5-ply Tortoise Scalini pickguard and black Speed knobs round off the finish. Made in Indonesia, it comes with a gig bag.

D'Angelico is a New York brand of electric guitars that has existed since 1938. First went unnoticed because the guitars were manufactured only by hand in a very small workshop by two luthiers; it is in 2011, at a show at the New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, that D'Angelico is noticed. Since then, D'Angelico guitars have been a real success thanks to their quality of manufacture and their price.
