Presentation
The D’Angelico Premier Brighton Ice Blue Metallic certainly lives up to its name: its Ice Blue Metallic colour, with a high-gloss finish, catches the eye even before the first note is played. The basswood body, combined with two Seymour Duncan Designed humbuckers (HB-102 at the neck, HB-101 at the bridge), delivers a rich, powerful tone, perfect for rock and distorted riffs alike.
The maple neck, set-jointed and C-shaped, glides smoothly under the fingers thanks as much to its natural satin finish as to its tapered profile, which ranges from 20 to 22 mm. The ovangkol fingerboard, radiused to 355.6 mm, features twenty-two Medium Vintage nickel-silver frets, marked by pearlescent white block inlays that stand out vividly against the dark neck.
The chrome-plated Tune-O-Matic bridge, combined with the Stopbar tailpiece, anchors each string with a firm hold, whilst the Grover 109 Super Rotomatic tuners maintain stable tuning over time. The PPS nut, cut to 42.86 mm, completes this solid foundation.
In terms of controls, two volume and two push/pull tone controls, coupled with a three-position selector switch, put a range of tonal textures at your fingertips. The solid white five-ply pickguard and black Speed knobs give it a bold aesthetic; it is manufactured in Indonesia and weighs 4.69 kg.

Spotlight on
D'Angelico is a New York brand of electric guitars that has existed since 1938. First went unnoticed because the guitars were manufactured only by hand in a very small workshop by two luthiers; it is in 2011, at a show at the New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, that D'Angelico is noticed. Since then, D'Angelico guitars have been a real success thanks to their quality of manufacture and their price.
