J.Leiva - Medina Black Lacquered

The J. Leiva Medina Black Lacquered is part of a series that has been completely redesigned, both in terms of the materials used and the way the strings are made and positioned. From the very first strike, you can feel that this is an instrument designed for serious use, where every detail of construction has been worked on to maintain a professional level.

The Cajon rests on a seven-ply 10 mm Russian birch frame, assembled with water-based glue. This base gives a feeling of stability, with a structure that takes up play without distorting in response. The 3mm laminated Russian birch front, protected by direct silk-screen printing and a cellulose finish, provides a clear attack and precise reading of nuances.

Inside, the D.T.S. system uses four vertically positioned guitar strings, adjustable from the outside without tools. This design makes it possible to quickly adjust the sound behaviour according to the playing environment, without interrupting the musical flow.

The overall work on the body aims to control unwanted resonances and maintain a stable balance between bass and brighter tones. The result remains responsive, with a wide dynamic range and an ability to follow variations in playing, from the softest to the most forceful. The result is an instrument that retains real coherence, even when the intensity rises.
